Hola and Welcome to the El Salvador Relocation Guide!
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. My name is Shannon Adams, and I am the creator of the El Salvador Relocation Guide.
I grew up in Austin, Texas, and stayed there to raise my family. Austin will always hold a special place in my heart, but after decades of aggressive growth, the fast pace and high cost of living became too much for me. I began searching for a new place where I could settle down and relax.
I heard about the growth occurring in El Salvador, and started reading more about the country. Over time, I realized that this was the place for me. A place where I could slow down a bit, enjoy a lower cost of living, while having access to a small mountain range and black sand beaches? I was sold! This is when I began to dig deeper to plan my next steps.
If you’ve made it this far, you’ve probably already experienced how frustrating the research process can be. When I first decided to move, I spent weeks digging through websites, YouTube videos, Facebook groups, and forums. I kept a Google Doc full of notes, but I was constantly correcting it. One source would say one thing, and the next would completely contradict it. I often ended up with 3 or 4 different answers to the same question and no way to know what was actually reliable.
Planning a future for my family in a beautiful country is supposed to be a fun and exciting experience, why was I finding this to be a mind-numbing chore? I thought to myself on multiple occasions: this would be so much easier if there was a guide that I could follow, a one stop shop that had real answers, not guesses.
And so, the El Salvador Relocation Guide was born.
I began documenting every contact, every recommendation, and every lesson I learned. I personally vetted attorneys, real estate agents, healthcare professionals, and other key experts. I kept track of the ones who I found to be helpful or reliable, while ruling out those who were unresponsive or did not give me the service I desired.I cross-referenced every piece of information with multiple reputable sources, to ensure that I did not have 3 or 4 answers, but one reliable answer for each question I had.
